 QUEEN OF ALL SAINTS SCHOOL
2007- 2008 SCRIP PROGRAM

SCRIP Coordinators: Ellen Hall

Each family is expected to purchase $5,000.00 in Scrip during the school year. If this obligation is fulfilled, $150.00 in yearly tuition will be refunded in September (of the next school year), after the accounting firm closes the previous year’s books. This $150 can be “rolled” over to your Fundraising Account. The QAS Scrip program begins June 1, 2007 and concludes on May 31, 2008.

SCRIP is a year-round fundraising program whose income is used to supplement the school’s budget and to help offset rising tuition. SCRIP is paper or electronic gift certificates that are purchased by school supporters, families and friends. A percentage of the purchase price is rebated back to the school. Over 500 different merchants participate in our SCRIP program.

How does SCRIP work? There are several ways to contribute to the QAS SCRIP Program:

1. Through the purchase of “paper” scrip;

2. Enrolling in eScrip (i.e., Safeway);

3. Albertson’s Preferred Savings Card;

4. Raley’s/Nob Hill Quality of Life Cards

5. Target Take Charge of Education Program (credit card)

Paper SCRIP
How can I order SCRIP? The school office sells negotiable gift certificates and debit cards (“paper” scrip”) from a wide variety of merchants (e.g. Bed, Bath & Beyond, Chili’s Restaurant, Chevron, Arco, et al) which you purchase AT FACE VALUE. For each SCRIP certificate or debit card purchased, QAS receives proceeds from the merchant, ranging from 1.5% (e.g. Shell Oil) to 25% (e.g. See’s Candies). You may order: (1) at the school office or (2) through the SCRIP Order Form sent home in the Family Envelope via your child. Payment for SCRIP must be received at the time you place your order. SCRIP cannot be disbursed without prior payment.

 When will I receive the SCRIP?  Every attempt is made to keep SCRIP in stock for our most popular vendors, and you will usually receive that SCRIP the same day you place your order.  “Special Order” SCRIP is SCRIP we do not usually on hand. Once you place your order, we will order it from our supplier and will send it to you as soon as we receive it. This can take from 7 – 14 business days.

  Although we try to keep our inventory well-stocked, we appreciate one week’s advance notice of any large orders. Some families have supported our SCRIP Program through purchases made for employee bonuses or client gifts (i.e. holidays). To place a large order for either business or personal use, please call Ellen Hall through the School Office (685-8700).

Family, friends, coworkers can purchase scrip through you or at the school office. Be sure they include your family name and grade on their check and order form for you to receive credit.

eScrip is a program in which participating businesses rebate a percentage of purchases to a designated school. Although Safeway is the most widely known, there are many others including Macy's, Big 5, Office Max, and Big O Tires.  In order for Queen of All SaintsSchool to receive the rebates, you must register your cards annually.  These cards include your Safeway Club Card, Macy's, debit and credit cards. When you make a purchase at a participating merchant and use a registered card, the school automatically receives a percentage of your purchase.   There is no fee paid by the participants.

This can be done three ways:

1. On-line at www.escrip.com and complete the registration form.

2. By telephone at 800-592-0942, or

3. By mail (complete attached form, download a form from www.escrip.com, or pick-up a form in the school office and then mail it to: eScrip. P.O. Box 6988, Auburn, CA 94506). Note: registering by USPS can take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to process.

Identify Queen of All Saints School as the school you would like to support:

QAS ID# is   137106399

Group Name: Queen of All Saints

Group Address: 2391 Grant Street, Concord, CA 94520

Register your grocery cards (Safeway, PW, etc), credit cards, ATM/Debit cards, and/or Macy’s Card. Each time you use your card with a participating merchant a percentage of your purchases, whether at the grocery store or at the mall, will be contributed to Queen of All Saints.

Once your registration is completed, you will receive a confirmation letter from ESI with your supporter identification number. This number can be used to create a personal password & view your activity reports online.

Please take the time to establish your “eScrip family account”. You will join over 200 Queen of All Saints Families and Friends who collectively contribute upwards of $700 per month. eScrip rebates can apply to your fundraising commitment.

Grandparents, friends, etc. can also register their cards and designate Queen of All Saints as their selected school. Complete one eScrip Registration Form for each participant and return to eScrip as described above.

See the attached eScrip Merchant Guide for a complete listing of participating eScrip Merchants.

QAS has Quality of Life cards in the school office; once you receive your card:

1. Register on line to register card (www.nobhill.com or www.raleys.com);

2. Select QAS ;

3. Select “Scrip”;

4. Present card whenever you shop.

In order for you to receive credit for Raley’s/Nob Hill, you must send in your grocery receipts, in an envelope marked with the family name, to the School Office on a quarterly basis.

You will be required by Raley’s/Nob Hill to renew your participation in the Quality of Life program annually.

Target
Take Charge of Education Program

Complete a Target Credit Card application, or visit www.target.com to register on-line. There is no annual fee for using a Target Credit Card.

Select Queen of All Saints School (ID#3123) as your choice of school to receive the benefit. Target will contribute 1% of every purchase you make directly back to QAS.

Unfortunately, Target does not report a breakdown by family back to the school, but is very generous in their contribution.  To apply Target purchases towards your annual Scrip Commitment, you must submit a copy of your monthly Target Credit Card bill, or a copy of your Target eStatement (visit www.target.com for more details) directly to the school. This may be submitted to the office to the attention of Ellen Hall, Scrip Coordinator. Please clearly mark the envelope “Scrip: Target Participation”.

School donations through the Take Charge of Education program are not tax-deductible.

Scrip Reporting

If you have signed up family and friends on eScrip, Albertson’s or Raley’s/Nob Hill, you must be sure that you let us know the name of the person signed up so that we can be sure to give you the credit for their purchases. Please complete the attached tally sheet and return it to the School Office so that your Scrip account is credited accordingly. If this sheet is not returned, no credit will be given.

The SCRIP committee will send a confidential report to each family periodically. The report will reiterate the requirements for the year, and tally the family’s SCRIP purchases year to date.

Watch for Scrip updates in the Week At A Glance and the family envelope. Contact Ellen if you have any questions about the QAS SCRIP Program.
